The Tangent Bundle Physics Project is currently hosted in a shared hosting environment courtesy of Dreamhost, which means it has to share a web server and database server with (optimistically) hundreds of other unrelated websites. While this is ridiculously cheap and fairly simple to maintain, this kind of setup is just too slow and unreliable for a website as complicated as this one. Dedicated hosting, on the other hand, would cost around $1000/year[1]. Since I maintain this project in my own spare time with my own spare change, dedicated hosting will remain out of reach for the time being. The ideal situation, then, is for this project to be hosted on an academic or research institution's hardware and bandwidth resources.
